Guardian policies

EDITORIAL POLICY

The Williamsport Guardian encourages dialogue about important local, national, and international issues. To this end, the Guardian strives to include articles voicing viewpoints not already expressed in existing Williamsport media, including some that may be in conflict with the beliefs of its editors. We believe that reason, civility, and verifiable information constitute the foundation of intelligent discourse, and we reserve the right to refuse to print articles that do not conform to those ideals.

LETTERS POLICY

The Guardian encourages readers to comment on our articles and editorials. Letters must be original and concisely written (no more than 250 words) and should include the author’s name, address, and contact information for verification purposes. We reserve the right to edit letters for grammar, spelling, style, and length. We also reserve the right not to print letters that do not conform to our editorial policies of reason, civility, and verifiable information. We do not print letters that are submitted to multiple outlets; nor do we print letters that are part of mass email campaigns. Letters must be submitted by the 10th of the month to be considered for publication in the following month’s issue.
